Key Facts About Wesleyan University

Wesleyan University is dedicated to providing an education in the liberal arts and sciences that is characterized by boldness, rigor, and practical idealism. At Wesleyan, distinguished scholar-teachers work closely with students, taking advantage of fluidity among disciplines to explore the world with a variety of tools. The university seeks to build a diverse, energetic community of students, faculty, and staff who think critically and creatively and who value independence of mind and generosity of spirit.

STUDENTS:

  • About 3,000 full-time undergraduates
  • Around 100 students per year in Graduate Liberal Studies

FREEMAN ASIAN SCHOLARS PROGRAM:

  • Provides expenses for a four-year course of study toward a bachelor’s degree for up to 11 exceptionally able Asian students annually from these countries and regions: the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
  • There are more than 40 Freeman Scholars enrolled today.
  • It is likely that some highly qualified applicants who would otherwise be admissible to Wesleyan will not be chosen for the highly selective Freeman Asian Scholarship thus, we all are encourage to apply as “regular” applicants as well
